After your operation you will wake up in the recovery area where the nurse will monitor you and prepare you for your discharge.
Your average stay after your operation is two hours although some surgeries require a longer stay and your nurse will advise you and your family of this.
You must ensure that there is a responsible adult to collect you and be with you for 24 hours post operatively.
NSOC physicians will take your vital signs, treat any nausea or vomiting, offer fluids, manage your pain, give you prescriptions and provide discharge education (both written and verbal) to you and to the person taking you home.
There is a Day surgery unit nurse available 24 hours at day at the center who you can contact us (254) 791 399 103 / 4 or (254) 780 888 823 immediately if you experience any problems once you have returned home.
